Temptation is Coming

We are drawing closer to April 24, 2012, the publication date for TEMPTATION, book one in The Kindred Trilogy. I am finally starting to get excited. No, I mean really, really, really excited. Nervous. This is because I can say without a doubt that TEMPTATION is the most complete and meaningful novel I’ve ever crafted, and the one closest to my heart. It’s a ghost story, a high-stakes suspense novel, and a love story, all rolled into one. A famous Hollywood producer recently said TEMPTATION was like Ghost and Harry Potter mixed together. Nice!

I’m hard at work as we speak, finishing up the writing of book two (SALVATION) in the series. (It’s due to my lovely and talented editor at HarperCollins on January 15.) I am also busily lining up the actors and production company for the filming of a 3-minute book trailer. (It should also be noted that I have sold my screenplay adaptation of this book to a major film production company, where it is in development.)

Anyway, here’s a sneak peak at the two beautiful young people I have convinced to star in the book trailer.

This is Brett Burke. He is a student at New Mexico State University, originally from South Dakota. He’s also a real-life calf roper, which is what my ghost cowboy character, Travis Hartwell, is. He’s tall, strapping, confident and charismatic. I wanted to find someone for the book trailer who could convincingly “sit a horse,” as my cowboy boyfriend calls it. Brett was very kind when I asked if he’d be willing to do this, and very businesslike. I think Brett will make an amazing Travis!

This is Kiera Hidalgo. She is a student at Cibola High School in Albuquerque. She is an award-winning dancer and aspiring (and extremely talented) young actress. She looks a lot like my lead character, a wealthy and sheltered prep school teen named Shane Clark, and I can’t wait to see what she does in the book trailer! Kiera’s mother is a brilliant classical flutist, and her grandparents were symphonic musicians. The character of Shane is a classical violinist.

Well, that’s it for now. Back I go, to write a bit more on Book Two in this, the series that I consider to be my preeminent work of fiction, ever. Get ready!

Will this book be available in iBooks?

  2. Nice!

Great! Because although I did download Kindle so that I could read “DGSC, Lauren, Saints of…”, I really don’t like the interface of Kindle. Luckily for me the book was good enough for me to get past my preferences!
